Today, Democratic senators sent a letter to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, demanding more information on the company’s data practices after Accountable Tech’s exclusive research found that Google continues to track and retain sensitive location history data from abortion seekers.

As noted in the letter, Google’s data collection practices are at odds with its promise to protect users’ sensitive health data after the fall of Roe v. Wade last year  – and could put abortion seekers at risk of criminal prosecution. The letter to Pichai was signed by U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar, Elizabeth Warren, Mazie Hirono, Peter Welch, Ron Wyden, Ed Markey, Richard Blumenthal, Dick Durbin, Bernie Sanders and Patty Murray.
